A couple of weeks back, my photographer sister came home for the weekend, and in true art-student style, she made me strip down at the beach (bare in mind, it was winter!) Anyways, there were some pretty cool photos out of it. 

I've been a fan of jumpsuits/playsuits/rompers since I first saw them. I won't lie, I mainly liked the practicality of not having to piece an outfit together because that is a skill that I have only recently found. Nevertheless, I still love a good ol' jumpsuit.

Lately I've been obsessing over the 'lob' (long-bob). Sara Donaldson, Zoe Sugg and Lauren Conrad have basically made me want to cry with how hot they are with short locks.
I've taken the daring chop before and regretted it because it's completely unrealistic for someone who has thick hair. But I drool over the look nonetheless.

For a long time I was in severe denial that sneans (sneakers + jeans) were a trend solely reserved for childhood flashbacks, but I guess I was wrong. After months of harassing my sister for wearing nikes and jeans, I, myself have jumped on the bandwagon. (Sorry sis!) So I have compiled a bunch of photos to support my theory that sneans are semi-okay (it wouldn't be sneans without some Oli Sykes lovin').

So, after months and months (literally) of searching every bookstore and newsagents in sight, I finally found Sophia Amoruso's not-so-new book; #GIRLBOSS. To be completely honest, I hadn't heard a whole lot about Sophia or nastygal.com before picking up this book, but in terms of the book, I had heard nothing but praise. Now, you can't exactly call this book an autobiography, but you cant call it a self-help book, business book or get-rich-quick tutorial. But more a story of Sophia's struggles and successes that teach you little tid-bit's and lessons to help you 'become a #girlboss.' This book is the second book ever that I have literally not been able to put down (the other was TFIOS way back in 2013 by the way) and I'm not joking when I say that when the plane landed I almost refused to get up because I was so captivated. #GIRLBOSS isn't a very literary book, nor one with wizards and dragons, but if you are lucky enough to stumble across it somewhere, I advise that you pick it up and read that shit! So a little about me...
I have a name that needs to be repeated to anyone that asks, thanks to my wannabe hippie mother who names her children after secondary characters in movies named after the main character. "I'm Lavender, I'm named after the movie Matilda" is a really confusing way to introduce oneself, but here I am doing it again.

I'm basically the kind of person who watches at least one Jurassic Park movie per day for nine days straight. I'm addicted to both tea and coffee. I also like candles, a lot. I wear a lot of hats, mainly beanies with dumb phrases, numbers or deathly hallows symbols or leather caps. So obviously I'm really cool.

I like to write things. Poetry, stories, blog posts mainly, but these things have lately been replaced with modern history essays, English essays and 140 character tweets about how much the previous two have stressed me out. I also love history, especially modern history, as well as reading, music and eyebrows. But I guess a blog about the history of musical eyebrows would be kinda weird. So here goes nothing.

oh, and dinosaurs. I like dinosaurs.
